Why is tire pressure important?
Why is tire pressure important? Tire pressure is often overlooked. Some people don't think about the air pressure in their tires until they start to notice steering problems. Each car has a specified inflation pressure that is ideal for the specific car. The proper inflation pressure prevents damage to your wheel rims. If tire pressure is too low then too much weight may be put on your rims which can lead to damage. Rims are much more expensive to replace than tires.
Tire pressure that is too high is also a problem. If you put too much air into your tires then they could explode or ride unevenly. It is your job to provide the exact pressure that is meant for your tires. You will find it listed in your owner's manual or on a sticker on the driver's door jam.
